Shawn joined the Avis Fleet Services team in 2009 as Managing Director of Phakisaworld Fleet Solutions. His background stems from a myriad of roles and responsibilities within the Fleet Leasing environment over a 11-year period. Some of these include being part of team managing the first outsourcing of National Government transport services, setting up and successfully managing innovative business units, leading teams into new territories; all of which complement and stand testimony to Shawn’s current role and responsibility.  His current leadership role balances strategic and operational management in driving an output based end-to-end fleet solution for 14 National Government Departments, with an average annual turnover of approximately R430 million. His passion for world-class service, best business practices, innovation, growth and development is evident in Phakisaworld Fleet Solutions.

Albert Geldenhuys 
Chief Executive

In the last 4 year's Albert has played an instrumental role in advancing the variety of fleet management services offered by Avis Fleet, through the acquisition of niche businesses in the areas of Fuel Management and Telematics. Albert started his career in the Automotive Division in 2004 and was appointed CFO of Avis Fleet in 2005, a position he held until 2010. Since then he has been involved in various executive roles at Avis Fleet including Strategy Development, leading the regional businesses un Botswana and Mozambique. From late 2014 he fulfilled the role of Executive Sales and Marketing along with the Strategy portfolio. Albert qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 1992 and completed his articles at KPMG. After a short while in the retail industry, he joined PPC Cement, at the time a subsidiary of Barloworld, in 1996. Developing the Avis Fleet brand ethos of "shaping solutions with a human touch" speaks to Albert's motto of developing people as the path to continuous improvement and services excellence

Litha Nkombisa 
Executive Business Development and Sales

His role is at the center of driving integrated customer solutions across the division which includes, Avis Fleet Services, Avis Rent a Car, Barloworld Motor Retail and Barloworld Logistics. For 5 years, Litha successfully ran Barloworld Motor Retail, a business that formed an integral part of the Automotive Division. He has extensive experience in financial services and the motor industry. Litha is formerly Head, BEE Portfolio with Nedbank Corporate. He is well respected in the financial field, and was voted top Corporate Banker in South Africa for 2002/3 by Association of Black Securities & Investment Professionals (ABSIP). He also has intimate knowledge of the motor industry having spent time at BMW Finance in Munich, Germany, in their International Marketing and International Risk divisions. His other motor industry experience includes diverse roles as Risk Manager at BMW Finance, Dealer Development at General Motors and Dealer Principal of a BMW dealership. He obtained his qualifications from the Universities of the Witwatersrand and UNISA.

Gail Lemmert 
Executive: Sustainable Development

Gale Lemmert joined Barloworld Group in 2003 as Group Strategy Consultant where she spent the next four years in this role. In 2007 she joined Barloworld Automotive in the capacity as Executive responsible for Organizational Development, in 2008 her responsibilities expanded to include Transformation and Sustainable Development. In 2012, her role changed to include Sustainable Development, Ethics and Compliance and  Communications.

Tony Jenkins
Managing Executive: Operations

Following a technical career at Toyota South Africa, Tony moved into the Fleet Leasing Industry. He joined AFS in 1995 in the capacity of General Manager Technical Operations and Administration, and in 2007 was promoted to his current position. Tony has been instrumental in both the day-to-day management of our fleet of nearly 200,000 vehicles as well as the successful implementation of many system enhancements and large tenders that AFS has been awarded.

 Michelle

Michelle Erasmus
Chief Financial Officer

Michelle joined Avis Fleet Services in February 2010 as Chief Financial Officer. She is a qualified chartered accountant, and was previously an audit partner at Deloitte, where she was employed for 12 years. Michelle and her team are responsible for monthly financial reporting, customer billing, supplier payment and cash and funding management. Michelle’s financial accounting knowledge and experience, gained during her years in the profession, have contributed to her success in her current role.
